World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, focuses on the importance of freshwater. This global day celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. With the knowledge that there are many in Pakistan who do not have access to clean, drinking water, TKS celebrates this day amongst its campuses to promote action that is geared towards tackling the global water crisis. TKS campuses inform students about the importance of water, how its scarcity for many impacts their lives and what steps they can take in their daily lives to ensure that it is not wasted. They also conduct activities that spread awareness amongst their students about how water and sanitation measures are key in the fight against poverty reduction, economic growth and environmental sustainability.
