Eid-ul-Fitr is a religious occasion observed by Muslims worldwide that marks an end to the month of fasting, or Ramadan. The month itself is very spiritual and has been decreed upon Muslims to make them understand the terrible privations and harsh realities that the poor have to face on a day-to-day basis. Thus, the month devotes itself to engendering a spirit of brotherhood and unity in Muslims all over the globe, regardless of social status, creed and race. This then culminates in Eid, an occasion that is both a celebration and also a chance to spread joy amongst the needy by giving Zakat, or charity, although this is an activity that reoccurs during the fasting month itself. During this time, while at home, TKS students are instructed in activities they can conduct to help the poor and the needy and to demonstrate the true religious feeling and fervour that the day arouses. This year, the Eid holidays extend from Monday, May 10, 2021 to Saturday, May 15, 2021, for all institutions and organisations in Pakistan.
